2003 $1 Silver Proof Coin - 50th Anniversary of the end of the Korean War
The 2003 fine silver proof coin commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Korean War (1950-1953), and honours the memory of those who died, as well as honouring those who sereved in the war until the withdrawal of Australian Forces in 1957.
The coin design background of vertical lines replicates the stainless steel poles which are in a major feature of the Australian National Korean War Memorial in Canberra. The 'Dove of Peace' is shown between the floral emblems of South Korea and Australia.
