For the 2023 Lunar New Year, the Royal Australian Mint is proud to present a silver coin celebrating the Lunar Year of the Rabbit as the fourth release in its Lunar Investment Series. The beautifully designed coin depicts a rabbit surrounded by plantain lilies - considered a lucky flower for people born in a Year of the Rabbit.
The Chinese Zodiac is a cycle of 12 years, with each year represented by an animal and its corresponding characteristics. In 2023, Lunar New Year falls on 22 January and is the Year of the Rabbit - the fourth animal in the 12-year cycle.
In recognition of Lunar New Year, the Royal Australian Mint launched its Lunar Series. The Year of the Rabbit is the fourth release in this series.
